Hello!  I am Julia Pobst and I create feel-good illustrations and whimsical patterns under my studio name “Wooji Art” in Durham, NC.  This is a space where I let my imagination lead me, which often takes me to eccentric characters, free-spirited animals or trying to capture elements of nature. I share my work on greeting cards, stickers, prints, totes, and more.

I started this studio to deepen my personal art practice and share my work to connect with others. My hope is that my work reminds you of your own child-like self and creativity.  My process typically flows like this: starting with loose sketches, playing around with various traditional media (watercolor being one of my favorites) before scanning and adding the final touches on my iPad.

The enjoyment and catharsis I have developing original art is something I hope travels through to you, leaving you feeling lighter in your boots and more present in your day.

The name Wooji comes from a childhood nickname my dad would call me. I love that it serves as a constant reminder of him, the brightest light. And as inspiration to connect with my younger self, a wide-eyed dreamer with a creative spirit.
