Hello! I am Julia Pobst and I create feel-good illustrations and whimsical patterns under my studio name “Wooji Art” in Durham, NC. This is a space where I let my imagination lead me, which often takes me to eccentric characters, free-spirited animals or trying to capture elements of nature. I share my work on greeting cards, stickers, prints, totes, and more.
I started this studio to deepen my personal art practice and share my work to connect with others. My hope is that my work reminds you of your own child-like self and creativity. My process typically flows like this: starting with loose sketches, playing around with various traditional media (watercolor being one of my favorites) before scanning and adding the final touches on my iPad.
The enjoyment and catharsis I have developing original art is something I hope travels through to you, leaving you feeling lighter in your boots and more present in your day.

The name Wooji (pronounced woo-gee) comes from a childhood nickname my Dad gave me. Which makes it practically perfect, as it connects me to him (the brightest light) and also to my younger self (a creative force and dreamer).
Let’s connect!
